• Cantec is a representative and distributor of electronic components, as well as a designer and manufacturer of batteries and battery-related assemblies. Cantec's products are assembled by technicians in our facility in Ottawa.

Duties

• Initial responsibilities would focus on battery assembly.
• Working with co-workers and customers to meet specific design and production criteria.
• Potential for progression into an inside sales position which would involve interacting with customers on a technical level.
• Possible further progression into a field sales position for a candidate possessing required skills and motivation.

Desired Skills

• Electronic components knowledge / background.
• Familiarity with basic electronics theory.
• Sense of responsibility, initiative and eagerness to learn.
• Basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Wordprocessing, Spreadsheet and E-Mail software. Familiarity with CAD design software is an asset.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Education

• Electrical Engineering / Electronics Technician
• Electronics industry experience is an asset.

Other

• Initial training would be provided by current battery technicians and sales personnel.
• Additional formal training sessions related to product knowledge, assembly techniques, etc. to follow.
• Valid drivers license / access to vehicle is a requirement
• Ability to travel occasionally.
